Peer Parenting Courses

HeadStart Newham offers a range of peer led courses for parents interested in learning new parenting skills.

“Being a Parent” Courses:
Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities

In a safe setting, parents can talk to other parents about their experiences and work through their concerns in a non-judgemental space. This peer-led parenting course helps parents support each other in the development of emotional resilience in their children by exploring themes including understanding feelings, managing behaviour, developing skills in listening, setting boundaries and building in family quality time.

Hear what parents who have completed the course had to say.

Online Resilience Workshops

Parents can attend a 2 hour workshop to better understand the online world children live in, learn practical approaches to keep children safe online and build the knowledge and confidence to talk with children about online safety.

Parent and Community Forums

A supportive group of Newham parents who come together to share their experiences, to work through their parenting concerns in a safe, non-judgmental space, and to learn new skills to build their child’s emotional resilience.
