Peer Parenting Courses

HeadStart Newham offers a range of peer led courses for parents interested in learning new parenting skills.

We have created a new page for parents to find out about the various services offered by HeadStart Newham. Visit our parents page and bookmark it to keep up to date! (we will keep updating this page for now)

“Being a Parent” Courses:
Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities

We have adapted this course to be delivered digitally over Zoom

In a safe setting, parents can talk to other parents about their experiences and work through their concerns in a non-judgemental space. This peer-led parenting course helps parents support each other in the development of emotional resilience in their children by exploring themes including understanding feelings, managing behaviour, developing skills in listening, setting boundaries and building in family quality time.

Enrolment for our Spring 2022 course is now open, see all available courses here. You can sign up here.

Hear what parents who have completed the course had to say.

We will share wellbeing tips and a toolkit for self-care. As things are changing month to month, we can continue the conversation and work together to encourage each other.
